Ryan Fraser grew up playing in the Nepean Minor Hockey Association. Upon graduating from minor hockey, Ryan went on to play three years in the EOJHL, split between the Metcalfe Jets and Shawville Pontiac. Following his time there, Ryan moved to New York, where he spent two years playing for the SUNY North Country Saints, being named as Player of the Week twice, and earning a spot on the NJCAA Nationals All-Tournament Team. After College, Ryan transitioned from playing to coaching and brings 16 years of Junior coaching and scouting experience to the GOAHL. Ryan's experience includes four years in the EOJHL with the Stittsville/Richmond Royals, two years in the CCHL with the Nepean Raiders, as well as scouting roles for the Kingston Voyageurs and Trenton Golden Hawks of the OJHL, and the CCHL's Brockville Braves organization. Ryan has spent the last four years working as a professional skills and development coach, emphasizing progression drills to build upon the players’ current skill-set and develop their hockey fundamentals. Currently, Ryan serves as the Eastern Ontario Scout for the Cobourg Cougars - OJHL. His contributions and been recognized, as he was voted as Ottawa's Coach of the Year at the 2022 & 2023 Faces Magazine Awards.
Joseph Wiseman is an Ottawa native, playing his entire career with the Nepean Minor Hockey Association. Coach Wiseman brings over ten years of coaching experience to the league. 2019-2020 saw Joseph coaching the Nepean Raiders U16AA, where he lead the team to three tournament wins, an International Silver Stick Championship, a 2nd place Provincial ranking and a League Championship with an undefeated playoff record. Joseph was the Head Coach of the 2021-2022 Kanata Blazers U15AA and 2022-2023 Gloucester Rangers U15AA teams, where he was awarded HEO's Coach of the Week and Coach of the Year for the Gloucester Minor Hockey Association. Joseph has appeared in five HEO All-Star games during his tenure as a coach, proudly representing his various teams. Coach Wiseman currently serves as an Assistant Coach with the U14AAA Ottawa Jr. 67's, and is in the process of earning his HP1 Certification.
Matthew is entering his fourth year coaching with GOAHL. He has playing experience at every level of hockey offered in the Greater Ottawa Area - he played one year with the U14AA Ottawa Sting, four years with the Ottawa Jr. 67's AAA organization where he AP'ed with the Cumberland Grads (CCHL), three years in the EOJHL split between the Ottawa West Golden Knights (serving as Captain in his third year) and Ottawa Jr. Canadians, and ended his Junior career with the North Dundas Rockets (NCJHL). Matt has shared the bench with Coach Wiseman for two seasons, including their championship runs, All-Star game appearances and International Silver Stick Championship. Matt currently playes for the North Dundas Sr. Rockets and has helped lead his team earn back to back EOSHL Championships (2021-2022, 2022-2023).
Ben Gillis has 10 years of coaching experience in Ottawa, demonstrating a consistent ability to cultivate promising talent around the area. During his three-year tenure with the 2023-2024 Bogart Champions Navan Grads (CCHL), Ben exhibited exceptional skills in player development, using video to propel the athletes and help them reach the higher levels in their careers. His dedication and commitment to player development has not only contributed to the current success of the Navan Grads, but has also helped him in leading the U13AAA Myers Automotive team to a league championship in 2019. The 2024-2025 season will see Ben behind the bench of the U15AAA Eastern Ontario Wild as their Head Coach.
Chris Lajoie has been an influencial figure in the Ottawa hockey community for over a decade. With a wealth of experience spanning multiple roles including Scouting, Coaching and Management, Chris has established himself as a versatile and dedicated professional in the sport. Currently, Chris serves as the Head Coach for the Upper Canada Cyclones U18AAA team. In addition to his coaching duties, Chris is also the General Manager of the Ottawa Junior Canadian of the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League (EOJHL), where he will oversee all aspects of team operations.
